Before you start, you need: a PC with Windows 10 or 11, an internet connection, an email address for your account, and permission to add apps to the PC (an administrator account).
  1. Choose a plan and create an account
  2. Get the official Windows app
  3. Run the setup on your PC
  4. Sign in to the app
  5. Choose a server location
  6. Connect
  7. Confirm you are protected

1Choose a plan and create an account

  1. Compare the options on our Get started page.
  2. On the official ZoogVPN website, select your plan and enter your email address.
  3. Choose a strong, unique password and complete checkout if you picked a paid plan.
  4. Confirm your email address using the message the provider sends you.
Tip: Use a password manager to create and store a long, unique password for your VPN account.

2Get the official Windows app

  1. Sign in to your account area on the official ZoogVPN website.
  2. Open the apps section and choose Windows.
  3. Save the setup file to your PC and note the folder your browser puts it in.
Safety first: Only get the app from the provider’s official website. Avoid copies from unofficial sources, as they may be altered.

3Run the setup on your PC

  1. Open File Explorer and double-click the ZoogVPN setup file.
  2. When Windows asks “Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?”, check that the publisher matches the provider, then click Yes.
  3. Follow the setup wizard and accept the provider’s terms.
  4. If Windows asks to add a network adapter or driver for the VPN, allow it. The VPN needs it to create the encrypted tunnel.
  5. Click Finish. The app opens and a ZoogVPN icon appears in the system tray.
Tip: If Microsoft Defender SmartScreen shows a warning, select “More info” and continue only if the file came from the official ZoogVPN website.

Windows asks for permission before changes are made.

4Sign in to the app

  1. Enter the email address and password you used in step 1.
  2. Click Sign in.
  3. Optional: open Settings and turn on Start with Windows so the app is ready whenever you use your PC.

5Choose a server location

  1. Click the location selector on the main screen.
  2. For the best speed, pick a server close to you, or use the app’s recommended/fastest option.
  3. To appear in a specific country, select that country from the list.
Tip: The available locations depend on your plan. Premium plans offer the full list.

6Connect

  1. Click the large Connect (power) button.
  2. Wait a few seconds while the app establishes the encrypted tunnel.
  3. The status changes to Connected, and the tray icon changes colour.
Tip: If it fails to connect, try a different protocol or server. See Troubleshooting.

7Confirm you are protected

  1. Check that the app shows Connected and the server you chose.
  2. Search the web for “what is my IP” in your browser. The location shown should match the VPN server, not your home.
  3. Open Settings in the app and make sure the Kill switch is on.
Done! Your Windows PC is now using ZoogVPN. Learn more in Using the app.
